This volunteer tomato plant is one of several that have sprung up in the garden this summer – the result of spreading ‘homemade’ compost that ‘cooked’ over the winter.

There are a few blossoms and two or three teensy tiny green tomatoes so, for the forseeable future I’ll still be getting my tomatoes at the Del Ray Farmers Market.

PS – In the interest of full disclosure the ‘tomato man’ is no longer at the Farmer’s Market but almost every vendor has a beautiful selection of these summer beauties.
